Light in a Dark Place

By Laura Hervey

About the Book

Senior Luke Bradford never imagined a single night could derail his future.

Not until he blew out his knee in the fourth quarter of Easton High’s Homecoming game. He and sophomore Abby Collins were voted King and Queen that year, but they missed the dance, and Luke lost his chance for a football scholarship.

Two years later, he's lost himself, though he won't admit it, and if he doesn't get his life back on track, he may lose Abby, too.

Abby threatens to break up with Luke if he doesn’t stop using heroin and oxycodone. She loves him, but how much longer can she deceive her parents? They might not notice her dwindling bank account as she drains her savings to help Luke, but she has one secret she won't be able to hide much longer. The night her grandma died Abby made a mistake that will turn all of their worlds upside down.

Will Luke and Abby lose everything they hoped for, or can they find God’s grace to accept that reality sometimes demands new dreams?

Laura Hervey captures a love story we have all probably seen, heard or read about before in our real lives...however it is the redemption and the forgiveness and the ability to overcome what we have written off as a society that sets this story apart. This very intriguing, couldn't put down despite what time it was story captured my attention and my heartstrings and I cannot wait to know what happens next
